Spline end mode: the curve passes through its first and last points too.

AKARETSA

AKARETSA is the default value of seeloSaKonego('ends', ...). Under it, the curve passes through every point you give — the ends are taken in.

Measured on pixels: under AKARETSA the pixel at the first point is stroke colour; under PEELOTHOKO that pixel is left as background.

PEELOTHOKO is the other mode.
