BURN

→ BURN

A mode that darkens the tones that are already dark, and raises contrast.

BURN

BURN is DODGE’s opposite: it divides the new colour by the inverse of the canvas colour, then inverts the result. Dark areas go darker, quickly.

Measured: (100, 150, 200) over (200, 100, 50) gives (115, 0, 0) — two channels have fallen all the way to zero.

The name stays English, together with DODGE — see its page. The one Setswana rendering of burn to be found anywhere is gatisa mo CD, which means writing files to a disc — not the thing happening here.
