simololaPhatlha

→ beginContour()

Begins a hole inside the shape you are building.

simololaPhatlha()

Between simololaPopego and feleletsaPopego, call simololaPhatlha(), add the vertices of the hole, then finish with feleletsaPhatlha(). That part becomes a hole in the shape — like the counter in a letter, or a window in a house.

The hole’s vertices must wind the other way round. If the outer shape goes clockwise, the hole’s vertices must go anticlockwise. This is measured on real pixels: when both wind the same way there is no hole at all — the shape simply fills, without complaint. It can take a long time to spot.

The name comes from what happens, not from the English label. In English it is called a contour. Setswana has no word for it in any source consulted — but it does have a word for a hole.
