millis
→ millis()Returns the milliseconds that have passed since the sketch started.
millis()A millisecond is one thousandth of a second. So millis() returns 1000 after one second, and 60000 after one minute.
It is not paloYaMotsotswana, which gives you the second on the world’s clock. millis counts from the moment your sketch started, which is why it is the one you use to time things happening inside it.
The name is left as it stands. No Setswana word for “millisecond” exists in any source searched. Written Setswana takes the English word itself — “Milisecond (go tswa go milli- le second; letshwao: ms)” — and then explains it. Bopa does the same: it takes the word, and the page explains it.
