MOTSU

→ MITER

A value that makes two segments of a line meet at a sharp point.

MOTSU

You give it to kopanoMothalo. The two segments run on until they meet, and the corner they build comes to a point — a sharp one. It is the default in 2D drawing.

When the angle is very small the point can grow very long — which is where SESOKAMISI or KGOLOKWE may serve better.

This name was coined here, and that is worth saying. In every reachable source there is no Setswana word for miter — nor for bevel, chamfer or joint. Botswana teaches the woodworking trades in English. motsu means “sharp, having a point” — the name describes what you see, not the joiner’s operation.
